TOA Paint is the largest decorative paint manufacturer in South East Asia and has offices in 10 countries. In 2016, TOA approached Eko because they needed a communication platform that could help their dispersed teams collaborate better.
With Eko, TOA launched an IT modernization project to increase operational efficiency and promote corporate culture.
Inspiring connection and focused collaboration
TOA’s HQ utilizes Group Chats to send daily inventory reports to their dispersed sales teams mobile phones.
This allows sales staff make better and faster decisions on the field and communicate back to the HQ if they have any further questions, optimizing the sales process.
A focused reporting channel reduces communication errors, improves operational efficiency, and keeps the HQ and sales teams aligned.
Eko’s deployment also upped staff engagement as it promoted two-way communication, where both staff and managers could exchange feedback in real-time, without having to set up an in-person meeting.
Saving remote staff time and effort with Workflows
TOA relied heavily on paper-based workflows. This was a pain point for remote staff, who had to visit the office to submit a form or get it signed.
To solve this problem, TOA started by digitizing all their forms and processes. This gave staff the ability to request for reimbursements, leaves, and more through their mobile phones.
The digitization process was completed through Eko’s Workflow Creator — an intuitive constructor that allows TOA to create workflows with multiple fields through a drag-and-drop mechanism in the Admin Panel.
The various customizations and permission settings also meant that TOA could easily convert any of their processes into one- or multi-stage workflows.
Eko’s Workflow feature allows any TOA employee to initiate a workflow and keep track of its progress on their phone.
Once the workflow moves from one approver to another or has been approved or rejected, the sender receives a push notification ensuring that there is zero delay on status update.
Strengthening corporate culture through Discovery
TOA started as a family business and prided themselves on their close-knit culture. However, maintaining that culture across 10 countries was proving to be difficult.
Eko’s Discovery feature restored the feel TOA’s founders craved.
Discovery acts as the company’s feedback hub, and lets employees give direct responses to new policy changes, announcements, or surveys.
This gives everyone a voice, ensures everyone is heard and makes everyone feel like they’re a part of the family.
Aside from collecting feedback, TOA uses Discovery to hire new employees. Through the “Hiring Hub”, current employees can see job vacancies, recommend suitable candidates, and earn rewards if their candidate is hired.
