- Peak operational efficiency through automation
- Better communication & collaboration with the dispersed workforce
Charoen Pokphand Foods (CPF) is one of Asia-Pacific’s largest agro-industrial conglomerates. The company sells fresh, cooked, and processed foods to businesses and consumers through a complex and ever-expanding distribution network.
Bringing internal communication to a new level
Organisations work better when the right data reaches the right people at the right time. But how to achieve effective information exchange in a company that big? Traditional communication methods used in CPF were slowing down operations and creating miscommunication between various distributed teams and departments.
When CPF approached Eko, we suggested to to start revising communication approach immediately. The first steps to be taken were:
1. Merging all employee databases and bringing them into Eko (solution: Eko’s Integration API)
2. Declaring Eko as the only and primary communication channel
3. Implementing the Active Directory (AD) feature to manage CPF’s growing workforce
How it works: when a new employee joins CPF, they are automatically added to all their department’s group chats. When staff is relocated, a system admin simply updates department details, and the employee is instantly added to all the related chats in a new region.
Once CPF adopted Eko’s automation features, they could dive deeper into particular departments’ inefficient processes.
Enabling sales and IT teams
For years, CPF’s sales data was stored in legacy on-premise systems. Every morning, IT staff had to go through the same routine: manually collect reports and send them to a relevant salesperson via their preferred communication channel. It’s been a time-consuming and non-unified process, that lead to many human errors and lost data.
Eko’s API automated collecting the relevant data from CPF’s analytics system and delivering it to the correct employee. Now, salespeople get the latest figures on inventory, product performance, and leads at the beginning of each workday. If someone needs an updated report during the day, they can enter a basic query in the ‘sales report chat’ and get the latest data in seconds.
The same technology automates IT reports. CPF engineering receives scheduled updates on vital systems and processes within Eko. Real-time data allows them to react to errors and bugs quickly, so production and manufacturing lines remain unaffected.
Spurring dialogue and solving problems
Eko provided CPF employees with the access to all work-related files, messages, and processes. When everyone in an organisation uses the same platform, collaborating on the projects, sharing feedback, or communicating on the issues happens much faster and easier.
With Eko, CPF maintains operations across geographies, creates a work environment with efficient processes for their teams, and builds one culture, one mission for all the company.
